Ludwick Community Center, 864 Santa Rosa Street
SAN LUIS OBISPO, California

July 19, 2008, 5pm to 9:30pm
Cost: $50 general; $40 for Coalition member and registered Criterium competitors.
The night before the Criterium, you'll have a good time mingling with your local and state-wide cycling community while giving to the organization who's advocating for our bicycling opportunities. All proceeds benefit the Bicycle Coalition.
We will welcome special guest speaker, Robert Mionske from Portland Oregon, at this event. Mionske is a VeloNews Columnist, an attorney, and author of the book 'Bicycling and the Law'. All cyclists face the daily hazards of commuting in traffic, overenthusiastic dogs, road hazards, traffic codes, harassment, road rage, bicycle theft, group rides, and property damage. This book addresses everyday issues we all deal with. Find out what you need to know about your cycling rights and hear some great stories about riding with Lance and the exciting life of a pro cyclist.
Mionske is a 2-time Olympian and was the 1990 National Road Race Champion. We are honored to bring Mionske here to talk, sign books, and answer your questions about cycling safety and rights!
Tickets are $50 per person for the general public, $40 for Coalition members and Criterium racers. Enjoy a diverse showcase of delicious local restaurant fare, a beer & wine bar, a silent auction, raffle prizes, and live music by local band Impromptu. Mionske will also answer questions and sign books.
