 WHAT: 1st Annual SLO GranFondo
WHERE: Mission Plaza in downtown San Luis Obispo map
WHEN: Saturday October 23rd
The popular “Pedal to Pier” ride is now
a GranFondo! This inaugural SLO GranFondo enables cyclists of a wide
range of abilities to join members of Team HTC-Columbia and other guest
riders, with a portion of the proceeds going towards the Coalition, it's
a great event for those who are fans of riding. With 100, 50 and 25
mile courses, there is a chance for everyone to get involved this year.
The Coalition will be in the Mission
parking bicycles for those who want to join in on the fun and support
the riders, enjoy some lunch, and just hang out!
This event is put on by ALPHA, a local non-profit which serves families in SLO County.
 WHAT: SLO Cross Race
WHERE: El Chorro Regional Park, San Luis Obispo map
WHEN: Sunday October 24th
Join SLO Nexus for this upcoming cross
race out at the beautiful El Chorro Regional Park! Proceeds from the
event goes towards the Coalition, including sale of various food &
beverages.
 WHAT: Morro Bay
July 4th Bike Parade
WHERE: Meet at the
Rock in Morro Bay before we ride to Tidelands Park, see the route here
WHEN: Sunday, July 4th,
11:00 am
We will be meeting at the Rock at 11:00
am before we depart at Noon, along the Embarcadero to Tidelands Park.
At the park there will be Bike Valet until 6:00 pm and plenty of Family
Fun activities before the fireworks begin at 9:00 pm. Celebrate the 4th
in Morro Bay as we wish America a happy birthday!

Bike Month Closing Ceremony!

Gallery, San Luis Obispo
WHEN: Friday, May 28th,
6:30 - 10:00 pm
Join us as we celebrate the end of Bike
Month with music, food, drink and awards! The winners of the commuter
challenge will be announced, and a brief presentation about bike
facilities in San Luis Obispo. We will have massive bike parking in the
back of the gallery for everyone to use too! Proceeds will be going
towards the Coalition!
This event is open to
anyone and everyone! More details to come soon.
 WHAT:
Bike Fashion Show and Gallery Closing Party
WHERE: 5805
El Camino Real, Atascadero, CA
WHEN: Saturday, May 29th,
6:00 - 10:00 pm
Celebrate the last night of the Bike
Lane Art Gallery with the annual Bike Fashion Show, full of innovative
fashions and concepts from local talent. There will be music for your
enjoyment as well, so come and join the party for the Gallery's last
night. The event is free and open to all ages, as is every visit
to the gallery!
 WHAT: Cote de Tolosa Velo Challenge
WHERE: Tolosa
Winery, San Luis Obispo
WHEN: Sunday, May 23rd,
7:30 am (ride starts) 12:00 - 2:00 (lunch open to the public)
The Coalition and Tolosa Winery are
teaming up for a bike event designed to challenge even the most fanatic
rider. Tolosa winemaker and competitive cyclist Larry Brooks will lead
60 participants on a 52 mile cross country loop, including 5,000 feet of
climbing. The ride
will begin at 7:30 am (start & finish line is at Tolosa Winery).
Participating in the ride is free, with registration available online at www.tolosawinery.com or through the tasting room at (805) 782-0500.
Tolosa welcomes anyone interested in supporting the SLO County Bicycle
Coalition to join us for lunch on the patio. Lunch will be served from
12:00 - 2:00 pm for $20 per person (including one glass of wine!), with
proceeds going towards the Coalition. There will be a 20% discount on
Tolosa wines for those participating in the ride or lunch. Bike Valet
will be waiting to check in everyone's bikes at the event as well.

Interested in getting
more involved with the kitchen? Come hear about volunteering with us!
What do we expect? What you will learn? What exactly do we do?
No prior experience with tools or bikes is required, just a desire to
learn. This event is open to anybody, invite your friends. We'll be
offering orientations about once a month.
